Program Manager

Martin is a natural leader with a strong sense of identity and an articulate and persuasive presence. His commitment, insight and personal development focus have seen him grow through the organization from training facilitator to his current role as program manager.

With this integrated understanding of what happens ‘on the ground’ and his strategic focus on details and outcomes, Martin continues to develop and grow stakeholder relationships and deliver impactful interventions for communities and funders alike.

His forward-thinking, hands-on approach is about creating new and innovative methods of impacting the youth with messaging to inspire them to see the sky and reach for their dreams within it.

Training Manager

Wilmos “Willie” Mafuse has a solid background in education, training and development and has been with RFN since the programs’ inception in 2008. He is currently the Program Training Manager, responsible for integrating feedback from the field into the program content and methodology as well as optimizing and updating the skillset of the facilitation team.

In the field Willie manages stakeholder relations with corporate and government implementation partners and is also active in providing training in schools and communities across the country.

Willie is very passionate about youth empowerment through education and skills development. He is married to Joyce and blessed with two wonderful daughters.

Program Facilitator

Cynthia joined the program in 2010 following her career as a corporate training officer. Prior to this, she was a Management Accountant and before that, a high school teacher for 12 years. With this wealth of diverse experience and her degrees in Management and HR, our firecracker ‘ma cynnie’ brings a unique and dynamic style into the training environment, connecting with and inspiring adults and children alike.

Cynthia loves her job and feels that spreading this learning is her life’s calling. This authentic commitment to the cause is evident in her ever-present good humour and empathy to all she encounters.

She is a family person first of all, and adores her husband and son.

Meet The Team 5
Program Facilitator

After leaving high school, Buyisamathemba Zulu went to the USA where he worked as a camp counsellor, giving him the opportunity to gain experience in the art of mentoring youth from diverse backgrounds. After returning to South Africa he began his bachelor of arts at AFDA.

All of this has equipped him with a well-rounded set of communication skills for understanding a youth audience and distributing information to them in an effective and impactful way.

The past three years of facilitating the ResponsibleME program have left him with a growing appreciation of the needs of South African youth, and an in depth understanding of how to impact them positively.

Program Facilitator

With a background in engineering, Spencer Mugauri spent the first part of his career working with the NGO sector in designing machinery for cooperatives and disadvantaged communities.

With this grew a passion for community development and since 2010, Spencer has been part of our facilitation team, delivering education to educators, learners and communities across the country. Spencer is married with children and together with his family, working with youth has become his pride and joy.

Executive Director

As Executive Director of Regency Foundation Networx, Richard provides leadership to achieve the foundation’s commitment to furthering the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  He strives to be a catalyst for a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable Africa and is actively engaged with the global business community, promoting the agenda of sustainability and inclusive business practice and working with companies to make strategic investments with a quantifiable return on investment. Richard’s experience working in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa has instilled in him a passion for holistic development and the vision to create IT’S AFRICA’S TIME. He is also one of the founders of INCLUSIVE BUSINESS AFRICA, a multi-stakeholder alliance designed to plan and implement innovative and inclusive business solutions for Africa.

Executive Producer and Managing Director

Shani is a jack of many trades and mixes her passion for development and creativity with a strategic focus on performance.

With a background in business, she has spent the last 10 years working in the development field, managing the implementation of school and community based interventions with strict accountability and dynamic flexibility to meet the needs of an emerging social context. She is currently the Managing Director of Regency Foundation Networx and the Executive Producer of IT’S AFRICA’S TIME as well as an Executive MBA student at the UCT Graduate School of Business.

Her focus is to drive the foundation’s agenda of Building Better Business through the development and implementation of tactical interventions aligned to corporate strategy and focused on delivering optimised stakeholder value.

When she’s not juggling all of this, she is a keen yoga fanatic, a potter and a mom of two very delightful little people.

Head of Operations and Projects

With extensive work experience abroad, Spencer brings a range of multidisciplinary skills from training, evaluation and conflict resolution to IT, graphic design, TV & film production and marketing. As Regency’s chief operations and projects officer he drives the organisation’s strategy, ensuring operations at Regency’s Cape Town office runs like a well-oiled machine, always on hand to resolve any technical issues.

Spencer also manages marketing and communications, ensuring the social media campaign, online presence and fundraising initiatives align with our mission, and his comprehensive understanding of Inclusive Business practices, Corporate Social Investment and Sustainability ensures he is well equipped to provide sound and up to date advice on the issues.

A dad to two wonderful little girls, he is often overheard sharing advice and tips on how to perform at your best with minimum sleep.
