THE REALITY
Financial Illiteracy: Millions of young South Africans leave school without understanding how to budget, save, or manage debt. Even fewer know how to start a business, despite entrepreneurship being the most viable path to employment.
HIV and AIDS: South Africa has the largest HIV epidemic in the world. Young people aged 15–24 account for a significant proportion of new infections. Many lack accurate information, access to testing, and the confidence to protect themselves.
Teenage Pregnancy: South Africa has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the world. Pregnant teenagers are more likely to drop out of school, live in poverty, and have limited life opportunities. Their children face the same cycle.
